These are the people who work tirelessly behind the scenes, and comprise the Committee of the Velddrif Chamber of Commerce.

He has been involved in retail trading for 32 plus years, a couple of years in health and safety consulting and is currently developing new skills to focus on potential income generators to the benefit of the local community.
By his own admittance he enjoys spending his free time with friends and family mostly around the braai consuming good food and tasting the appropriate accompanying beverage.
Off-roading, camping and some attempts to fish successfully plus long walks with his dogs takes up spare free time.
Tilman von Zukowski
VICE CHAIRMAN and TREASURER
I attended school in Cape Town and later in Germany. I successfully acquired my Financial Advisory Certificate in Germany, and thereafter worked for Deutsche Vermoegensberatung AG, a leading European financial services company for 19 years, both as a Financial Advisor as well as Branch Manager.
Upon my return to South Africa, I earned my National Wealth Management Certificate and joined a top-performing Liberty Life Entrepreneur Division, where I enjoyed a successful career for almost 9 years.
It was whilst studying towards my Postgraduate Diploma in Financial Planning that I realized that my career was more about giving advice than a one-side product sale. The relationships and advice sharing was the focal point of my client relationships.
The logical step was that I then joined VITAL CONSULT in April 2016, which is one of the largest Independent Brokerages in the Western Cape. In September 2016 there were further changes culminating in me heading my own business unit “Trilogy Wealth” within the Vital Group as Business Executive.
In my free time, I enjoy staying fit, travelling as well as hiking. I am also Charter Member and Past Treasurer of the Rotary Club Noon Gun and represent the Cape Regional Chamber of Commerce as Non-Executive Director on their board of directors.
Liza Steyn is the proverbial Jack of all Trades, but alas, she is quite happy to confess that the title of 'Master of None' can also be attributed to her. As a self-professed bibliophile, she is most happy with her nose in a book and her head in the clouds. Unfortunately more mundane earth-matters always beckon, and in reality she is firmly grounded in the two businesses that she co-owns in Velddrif. Always keen for new opportunities, she is in the process of starting up a third business venture, and is driven by a desire to be self-sufficient and self-employed.
She changed horses in mid-stream with education, and after having obtained University-level training in Information Technology, she has gained certification and experience in various other sectors such as Real Estate, construction, quantity surveying and home inspection. She also dabbles in various fields of interest - often reading up at length or taking short online courses on a wide range of subjects ranging from the 'head-hurting' mysteries of Quantum Mechanics, the more traditional subjects such as nutrition and music, to the 'just downright weird' category (she is sadly still searching for those elusive mermaids of the Karoo). She has an extreme thirst for knowledge - Google is her best friend, and she will be severely disadvantaged and thoroughly miserable if the world's internet has to come to an end.
On the home front she is mother to two adorable flat-faced felines and a Siamese cat. But do not make the mistake of labeling her 'Crazy Cat Lady' quite yet - she considers herself very blessed to have Brendon as her lifetime cohabitant partner.

Ewald van Wyk
Ewald van Wyk is a semi retired electronic engineer from the security industry that moved to Velddrif permanently 4 years ago, but has owned property there for more than 12 years, he is 57 years old and has been married for 30 years to Corné, they have two sons 27 and 28 that live in Cape Town that are continuing with the security business.
Since becoming a permanent resident of Velddrif, Ewald has been appointed as the Marine Ranger on the Berg Estuary, fondly known is “DIE RIVIERSPIETKOP” by CapeNature and is involved with water sampling, law enforcement, research and estuary management. Ewald also is a member of the Laaiplek CPF, and assists POMA, the municipality and other organisations with advice and input on river matters.
Ewald is a Biker (rough and ready with leathers), a Sailor (Always the ultimate gentleman), and a socialite that never passes up on an opportunity for a cold one with friends. His favourite pet is a huge Alsatian called Goüner that is also a socialite and well known in the watering holes.
Seize the day! Every challenge is an opportunity to succeed. Focus on what matters, and live life to the fullest. Perseverance pays off!!! I do not believe in giving up.
I am a quiet and calm person, but I can put my foot down when I am being stepped on. Prioritization and planning activities are important to me - I like to work with a "to do" list. I prefer to do things in the easiest manner - tasks should not be overly complicated as this often leads to a dead end and a lack of interest. I believe in "taking the proverbial bull by the horns". I face my challenges full on, and plan and execute the work to be done. Procrastination is the thief ... what is done is done.
My family: I am mother to two children and have been married for 20 years to my first husband. Our family is quite unique - even if I say so myself. We have defeated many a Goliath and are still standing strong. My whole life revolves around my family. It is important for me to succeed because I believe my success will determine my children's future.
I am a person who will take on any storm in life and will come out the victor. I'm so focused that I believe that I am able to overcome any obstacle - not due to any super power, but because I strongly believe in the Living God.
Brendon Fourie is a logical thinker and a problem-solver, and owns a construction firm as well as a paint shop in Velddrif. He has been a resident of the Western Cape for 20 years, and business owner in Velddrif for the past 13 years. He is also in the process of establishing a new exciting start-up.
He has adapted a unique style in the construction of his homes - a style that focuses on quality over quantity and meticulous attention to detail, and this style is akin to his personality. He often gets involved in the hands-on nitty-gritty building work, and whilst perching on top of a roof or covered in paint, dedicates special attention to his activity.
Brendon is also an adventurer-at-heart, and should have been a geologist or spelunker. He enjoys spending time in nature, exploring wilderness territory and hiking long distances. He also enjoys tending to his prodigious vegetable garden. He is fond of taking an occasional Enduro outride. He is in a relationship with Liza, and she has ordained him 'assistant bottle washer and cook' over weekends.
